The Agua Sarca farm is owned by Isacio Javier Albir Vílchez, who has been in possession of it for over 30 years, inherited through his family lineage. It is situated at the 250 kilometer mark on the road from Ocotal to Las Manos in Dipilto, Nueva Segovia.
The farm employs 25 permanent workers, but during the harvest and collection months, which range from November to March, the number of workers increases to 85. Agua Sarca covers an impressive 76 hectares with an average yield of 18 quintals of cherry per hectare.
A variety of coffee cultivars are grown on this farm: Caturra, Yellow Catuaí, Red Catuaí, Maracaturra, Ovata, Parainema, Marcelleza, and Geisha. These varieties are cultivated at altitudes ranging between 1200 and 1400 meters on sandy loam soil.
SUBSCRIPTION will expire when the coffee runs out. We purchase in small quantities to maintain interest in our single origin offering.
